Belagavi: Despite an order issued for installation of closed circuit
cameras at all examination centres for SSLC established in the state, the government is yet to release funds needed by government schools for CC cameras procurement and installation.

After an order issued by government to all schools, most of
private schools having SSLC examination centres with them in Belagavi got the cameras installed before the deadline of January 31 with a fear of losing the examination centre. According to sources, 77 out of 98 examination centres in Belagavi district are in private schools while 21 are in government schools.

If the sources are to be believed, hardly some of government
schools got the cameras installed in Belagavi region but most of them are still awaiting funds from the government. However, the authorities concerned in Education Department have urged government school managements to utilise the funds already available with them to fix the CC cameras without waiting for other funds from government for cameras.

Sources said, the Belagavi Education Department sent a proposal
for release of Rs 1 lakh needed for installation of cameras in each
school but the government did not respond to it so far.
