Belagavi: To mark Women’s Day on March 4, Giants Saheli of Belagavi will be organising a massive and attractive rally in the city at 4 pm the same day. The rally which aimed at women’s security and awareness would kick off from Dharamveer Sambhaji Chowk in which more than a 1000 women and prominent personalities will take part. A message on the vitality of women’s security will be passed on to the society by holding the rally.

A meeting of Giants Group in Belagavi, members of the group appreciated the way in which women were entering almost all the fields and becoming engineers, doctors, officers, politicians, pilots, scientists etc., by competing with men and said, due to a psychic section of society some women were also getting prey to sexual assaults, dowry harassment, feticide, murders etc, they said.

Giving a call to all women, girls who were in need of help should directly contact members of the Group for support, members said assuring that they would stand as a backbone to all victims of atrocities and women in need of help.

Condemning rape of a minor girl at Kakti area recently in Belagavi, members of Giants urged authorities to ensure stringent punishment to all the culprits and said, none of the advocates should come to rapists support nor they should get the bail. They outlined the need for creating awareness about `good touch’ and `bad touch’ to girls in all the schools.

The members alarmed girls not to visit secluded places with their friends and said, they should not also move out without informing where they went to their near or dear ones.
