Belagavi: A notorious racket involved in drug trafficking was caught by Belagavi police at Khanjar Galli on Sunday. The eight peddlers arrested were selling ganja, a life-threatening weed, at a garden in Khanjar Galli.

They have been identified as Mehfuz Sayyad, Nazim Tambhakwale, Gouse Beedi, Yasin Nadaf, Vikky Malgi, Toufiq Gorikhan, Dilawar Sanadi, Subani Shaikh. According to sources, another drug other than ganja stored by the arrested with them also was seized along with an auto which they used to transport it. Merely two days ago, several residents of Khanjar Galli had urged DCP Seema Latkar to help prevent drug trafficking at their locality. The raid on peddlers was conducted by a team of police, headed by Inspector B R Gaddekar.
