Belagavi: About 850 families of Londa, Nagargalli, Chigule, Jamboti, Shindolli, Gandigwad etc who are residing in the houses they have got constructed in government forest land in Khanapur taluka have got their Land Record Certificate from the government on Tuesday.Khanapur Congress MLA Dr Anjali Nimbalkar distributed the certificate at a function held at Khanapur tehsildar office. The families, though residing in the houses since 40-50 years had not authorisation certificates to claim the houses belonged to them. Dr Anjali who is also a Parliamentary Secretary to Karnataka government gave them the certificates. As the houses were known as illegal, the residents had no proof to claim rights on the houses and even had no rights to get repaired the damaged houses as were constructed on government land.

Speaking to Khanapur Congress MLA Dr Anjali Nimbalkar said, “First time in the history of Khanapur Taluka after 40yrs around 850 people got their HAKKA PATRA today. A big move by the GOVT through Akram Sakram. Feeling very happy for my people that I could deliver it to them.”
